Laska Steamboat Dinner

Juz reached home... Had a very filling laksa steamboat dinner juz now... There goes my diet plan... Hurhur...

Dinner was great... The laksa soup was sepda... We ate as if it's buffet style but in fact, everything was ala carte lor... Hehe... Aiya, took a few fotos only lah... Dun intend to upload the fotos... =)

Called for the bill... I did my part to check thru the bill coz I'm the one who ticked the dishes mah... Was kinda shocked to see that they added some drinks tat we did not order lor... My memory might not be as good as before, but still it's kinda wkin lor, so I agah agah know what we ordered lor... Emmz, maybe they accidentally added the items in... Maybe they do it on purpose... If it's the latter reason, it's kinda dishonest lor... And it will definitely stopped me to re-visit this place again lor no matter how good the food is... Anyway, I did ponder on this as well: why do it on purpose leh? Juz charge a 10% service charge mah... Anyway, we headed straight home after the dinner... Hurhur...

Was talking abt the EQ topic over dinner... (Went to search for the meaning of EQ but almost fell asleep when I saw all those words... LOL) Pls get this straight lor: U dun care abt everything/ anything doesnt equal to U got high EQ lor... Someone gets pretty upset over this topic but honestly, do u think I care? (See, I oso heck care mah, but I confessed tat I got low EQ lor) I dun understand lor, low EQ low EQ lor, why get upset over this leh?

Buffet Lunch at Hotel Rendezvous

Had a lunch gathering with my fellow colleagues at Hotel Rendezvous today... =) Had been planning for the lunch for quite some times liao... But the location kip changing lah... Hehe... Finally we decided to give Straits Cafe a try... =)

Nice environment, I must say... The food was okie lah... Not very much variety actually... I like the shrimp toast best... Pls spare me, I'm poor in description lah... Hehe... The laska taste is delicious as well... And so are the durian fudge and durian paste... Hehe... =) As usual, pics will be uploaded in FB... Hehe... And I juz realised tat I din took any shoots of the buffet counter!! >o<

On a side note: Another salesperson name is added to my books of dislikes... I seriously think tat salesperson sux big times lor... Need me to mention name? Nah, I dun wish to dirty my blog with his/her name... And of coz, I do believe in sth called retributions... It's juz a matter of time before they hit you!! And if I dislike/ hate you means I really dislike/hate you... So save ur breath or watever coz it simply WON'T please me!!

Went to 2 主題餐廳 in Taipei... 1 is the Hello Kitty Restaurant and the other 1 is the Toilet Restaurant.

The restaurant aint hard to find lah... Alight from 忠孝復興 MRT station. Exit from Exit 3. Then walk to 大安路. You'll find the outstanding color restaurant among all the other dull colors shops.

It's my first time patroning 主題餐廳 in Taiwan. (Ermz, I think so... Hurhur...) The food there aint tat fantastic bah... Juz so-so... Think the 重點 on this restaurant is juz the interior designs and the designs on the desserts bah...

The 3 of us ordered 3 different main courses and 1 dessert to share... The prices in this restaurant aint tat cheap lah as compared to other restaurants.

Dun asked me wat food tat we ordered lah, coz I really cant remember leh... I only rem my drink is called 蔓越梅蘋果茶... Hurhur... I ordered a curry spaghetti. Think the sauce is Japanes curry sauce. Kinda sweet lah... I preferred our local curry lah... Hehe... More tasty ah...

My first visit at this restaurant. Think will be my last visit as well... Hurhur...

Though the restaurant is located at 西門町, it's not tat easy to locate lor... Hurhur... So kindly ask ard the people at 西門町 if you want to go there...

The food there is not bad lah... I ordered a Cordon Bleu Pork Chop. And I like the taste lah... =) The meals come with a drink and a dessert. However, dun 假厉害 and go and ordered the shave ice... You'll regret lor! Coz it's a damn big portion!!!

PS: I touched down yesterday at ard 12mn. Was damn tired when I reached home. Luckily I dun have to work today... Haha... So I slept till 1pm today... But was still dead tired... Gotta go back work again tmr... Haiz~~~ Home Sweet Home, BUT not office sweet office leh... =(

Dinner

Yesterday was my grandpa's b-day... Aunt had arranged a birthday dinner especially for the occasion... Sighz... Every year abt the same lah... Dun really like to go there, coz my grandma 重男轻女 lah., which really pissed me off lor... Wanna buy a gift for grandpa initially but really dunno wat suits him best lor, so the idea dropped off later...

Took a ride from Ms Lee... Hehe... I told her "Everyday U go home alone, today I kip you company for a while lah..." Haha... Cant rem wat we were chatting abt initially but the topic soon dragged to applying for HDB flat or wat... I told Ms Lee tat one of my buddies, Ms Chan, actually mentioned tat I might be the first one to get married among the 3 of us (Ms Chan, Ms Lim & me)... Hehe... I remembered I told her I might not be getting married leh, then might nid to apply for my own flat at the age of 35... Haha... 没办法啦... 你喜欢的未必喜欢你... 你不喜欢的可能就喜欢你... 缘分这种东西很难说的嘛... Sighz... So, the search is still in progress... Is/ Will/ Can he be the one?

Hehe... 离题了... Surprisingly, I reached there at ard 6.40pm... And yes, I'm the first silly to arrive tat early... Grandpa and grandma were kinda surprised lor, and kip asking how come I arrived tat early... Sighz... If I know tat I'm the first silly to arrive tat early, I would have take my own sweet time liao lor... Dinner commenced at ard 7.45pm when everyone arrived... Dead tired and hungry by then... 9 道菜 lasted till 10pm or so... Food was quite nice lah... Like the shark fins' soup and the steamed soon hock best... The fish is damn fresh lor... Delicious... Dun really like to eat fish lah coz got lotsa bones lah... Haha... But this one is exceptional... Hehe...

Another dinner coming up on this Sat with my buddies... It's been quite sometimes since I last met them... Will update if there's anything interesting happening lah... :)

Yuki Yaki Dinner

Ms Chia's b-day was round the corner, so the group of us (comprising Ms Hui, Ms Quek, Ms Lee & Me) decided to celebrate for her in advance...

Everyone was cracking brains on where for dinner... And me, suddenly have a crave for Yuki Yaki... Hehe... Well, based on past experiences dinner with them at Yuki Yaki, I did enjoy myself alot lah... Hehe... Glad tat everyone was okay with Yuki Yaki... :)

Was telling Ms Chia to go there earlier coz cannot make reservations lah... Hehe... Everyone was saying tat I very bad lor... Telling the b-day gal to go there early to chomp place... Wah liew! Like tat oso kena scolding... *Shake head* Anyway, before we reached the restaurant, we headed to Secret Recipe to buy a slice of cake for Ms Chia... We are thinking very hard wat she can and will eat lor... Banana cake? No, cannot... Peach? Rejected... Cheese? She dun fancy for tat... White Chocolate Macadamia... Shld be fine bah... Dunno whether she likes nuts anot lah... Aiya, juz buy lah...

Had a heavy dinner... Quite sometimes back since I had heavy dinner liao... Nowadays, I seldom take dinner liao unless going out with frenz or colleagues lah... Everybody was full to the brim liao... But tat's not all for Ms Chia... We presented her the cake and told her tat she muz finish her cake in order to get her gift... Haha... Ms Chia, now u know how I feel, rite? We chit chat all the way while waiting for Ms Chia to finish her cake... Ms Hui, who will be next in queue for b-day treats, was saying tat she wanted ice-cream cake for her b-day... Hehe...

Dear Ms Hui, we'll not forget your 3KG ICE CREAM CAKE... We are nice people... We'll let you choose the ice-cream flavor for your cake... And if you really need, we'll prepare a table and a chair to place at the carpark especially for you and your ice-cream cake... AND dun ever dream tat we'll wipe this memory clean, we'll make sure tat the ice-cream cake will appear rite in front of ya... Haha...

After dinner, thinking of where to go again... Sighz... Nobody wanna suggest lor... Sianz... I suggested the 民歌餐厅... Searched our way to tat 餐厅, only to discover tat the place was packed with lotsa ppl... No place to sit lah, let alone chit-chat... So gotta go for another choice... Somebody but I cant remember who, suggested Fullerton 1 to drink coffee... Wah liew! 11plus at nite, tell me to come out drink kopi? Honestly, I would prefer alcoholic to kopi lor, coz I simply dun drink coffee... Hehe... And the songs at Starbucks, I really can fall asleep lor... Was hoping for some vodka actually but they dun like Post Bar... Ms Quek said the atmosphere kinda quiet and serious...

Sad... No alcoholic drinks... Headed home, feeling kinda unsatisfied...

Lunch with Ms Chan

Mit up with Ms Chan yest... Haven mit her for 1 mth liao bah... Well, she's busy with her work and studies mah... Hard to mit up lah... Actually Ms Chan, Ms Lim & I were planning for dinner gathering... However, something cropped up and Ms Lim decided to give our dinner a miss... So Ms Chan & I decided to mit as per normal but to head for lunch instead of dinner... We'll do arrangement for the dinner next time round lor...

Anyway, we headed down to Marina Square to have our lunch... Ms Chan brought me to MOF - Ministry of Food... It's actually a Japanese restaurant... (the link: http://www.ministryoffood.com.sg/) Well, it's my 1st visit there... And the food there was quite good... Especially love their dessert ice-cream... Dunno how to describe tat lah... Head down and try it...

As usual, Ms Chan & I updated each other on our latest move... Told her abt the chalet next week... Wanted to buy a bag so tat I can use for the chalet... Guys, I do understand tat I got lotsa bags... But bags for gals are simply insufficient lor... Hehe... Anyway, I did buy a bag later on... A Nike bag @ ard 80bucks... To me, the price is ok lor... I like the design and the color... Be it Addidas or Nike or watever lah, it's the design and price tat I'm considering into... And I really love tat bag... Hehe...

I told Ms Chan abt him as well... She told me to make the first move, try to have small talk with him... She asked me "其实你喜欢他什么?" Ermz... Actually I oso dunno wat I see in him woh... 说帅, 也不是很帅... 说高, 也不是很高... 说壮, 好像也不是什么猛男... 这是一种感觉吧... 一种不知道该如何形容的感觉... Sighz...

好烦woh! 我可不可以不要再想那么多?

Lunch With My Boss

Think today, 9th May 2007, will be deeply engraved in my memories... This is the day where I ate at least 20 prawns/ shrimps...

Those who know me, my family members, relatives, frenz, colleagues, classmates, etc..., will know tat I hardly touch any prawns/ shrimps. I absoultely hate them...

我还记得在我 8 -9 岁时, 我吃虾的记忆:

那一次, 我哥和我爸吵架... 当时吃晚餐时, 我哥就要我帮他拿几只虾, 我就傻傻地要帮他拿囖... 结果leh, 当我把几只虾放到我碗上时, 我爸明知道我是受人所托, 帮忙拿几只虾子嘛, 还问: " 你拿虾干吗? 你都不吃的!"

我那时就跟我爸说: " 我要吃嘛!" 全家人都知道我不吃虾的啦! 这种烂借口就只有当时的我会想的出来!

结果leh, 我爸就说: "你要吃? 你在我面前吃啊!"

啊! 我的天啊! 为什么这样对我?! 结果leh, 我就一把鼻涕, 一把眼泪地勉强吃掉一只虾... 到最后, 我哥到底有没有拿到虾, 我不是很记得了! 我只记得我 "悲惨" 的吃虾记!


Ok, back to the topic... My last day will be on this coming Friday mah... My boss had a small chat with me last week mah.. He claimed he saw the letter only last Thurs when in fact, I submitted the letter to him on Monday liao... Sigh... Anyway, he said tat he wanna gave us, the office staff a treat for our 'hard' work lor... Haha... Tot he had forgotten, tot he only gave blank cheque lor... Tot tat even if it's true, it will only be at our own restaurant... Tat's not the case lah...

He treated us to Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao... Wow! Then he pre-ordered so many items: Winter Melon dunno wat lah, think cold-dressed black fungus lah, then dunno wat eels lah, then dunno wat bamboo sticks lah, then 四川口水鸡lah, then the buttery kinda prawns lah, then fried rice lah, then 水煎包lah, then dunno wat red beans thingy lah... Wah kaoz, ordered so many thingy woh...

Conclusions:
Fried rice - Not so nice leh... Got prawns, ham slice and chicken slice... Sounds great lah but taste not so great lor... Below my standard... My mom can cook better than them...

The winter melon dunno wat - Never tried... Dun like winter melon anyway...

The eels dunno wat - Never tried as well... I dun like eels...

The dunno wat bamboo sticks - Tried only 1 bamboo sticks... Quite salty.. Dun like the taste...

四川口水鸡 - The dish is cold lor... Dun really like oso...

水煎包 - Not bad but it's 包 lor... Very full lah...

Buttery kinda prawns - I ate alot of this lor... Coz all the others I dun eat liao, this one cannot dun eat lah... 再不吃着道, 我吃什么leh?

Cold-dressed black fungus - this dish was placed directly in front of me, so I very shun-bian take it lor... 1st time eating black fungus... Ok lah the taste...

Red beans thingy - No way! Damn full liao after stuffing all the prawns and black fungus and fried rice... Give this a miss... Anyway, I dun eay red beans lah.. Haha...

Ok lah... Not bad lah all in all... Though not happy with the dishes, it's the tots tat counts lah... Thanks, Old Huang... This is the 1st and last time U giving me a treat...

Hungry For Cheese Cake

Was surfing the net, searching for the recipe of cheese cake... Alamak! The more I look at those recipes, the hungrier I am... Hunger for cheese cake... *Mouth watering* If only I can have a piece of cheese cake rite in front of me now...

I remembered a few years back, Crystal Jade Bakery did sell those Cheese Tarts... Yum yum... I love these cheese tarts alot and will buy the cheese tarts as breakfast for the following day... I was telling one of my buddies abt the Cheese Tarts and how yummy they were... My buddy was oso keen to buy these cheese tarts after I kip 'prompting' them in front of her... (I think she wanna buy for her boyfriend coz her boyfriend likes cheese alot...) So everytime we mit up to go on shopping spree, everytime we walked past Crystal Jade Bakery, we would browse thru the whole range of confectionery to see whether are the cheese tarts avail anot... Hehe... However, ever since I told her abt the cheese tarts thingy, the cheese tarts seem to disappear from Crystal Jade Bakery... Up to date, neither she nor her boyfriend got the chance to taste the cheese tart... And me, I never get to taste Crystal Jade's Cheese Tarts again...


Think I'd better end the topic here... Shld I buy a pc of cheese cake after work then?

Cheese Cake, Anyone?

Went for meeting this afternoon...

After meeting, my colleagues and I headed to Cafe Cartel to buy sth to munch... Hehe... I bought a pc of New York Cheese Cake... It's delicious... Yum yum...

These few days, my mom had been asking me to find the recipe of Cheese Cake as well... Hehe... Think she's hooked up with baking liao... I found a Cheese Cake recipe for her 2 days ago... However, when she studied the recipe, she found out that there's no flour used... Yes, yes... She's worried tat the cake might not worked out well coz there's no flour involved at all... So I gotta searched another cheese cake recipe for her liao... Haiz...
Anybody out there got the cheese cake recipe? Preferably in Chinese lah so tat I dun nid to do translation job... Hehe...

Juz yest, she told me she wanna try to bake durian cake... *Shake head* Gotta dig out the recipe for her as well liao... Ermz... Durian Recipe needed as well, please! Hehe...

I was in the kitchen with my mom the whole of this afternoon... Hehe... We were busy baking tartlets and cakes...

Butter Cake

Hey, the taste is great woh! TWO BIG THUMBS UP! Inititally, Mom wanted to make cheese cake... She tot tat she got the recipe but searched everywhere and cannot find lah... So she changed her mind lor... In the end, we made 2 butter cakes... Haha... Coz my aunt came and visited us... So we made another one especially for her... Hehe... She oso said tat the cake taste delicious... Taste exactly like the one they sold at the bakery shop... Muahaha!!

I used to bake butter cakes before... But these few years, I gave up baking liao... Coz upon the tots of doing the washing up makes me think twice and thrice abt bakery... Hehe... I like the process but dun like the washing up lor... Hehe...

Blackcurrant tartlets

Initially, The recipes stated as raspberry tarts lah... But my house dun have raspberry jam lah... So I changed abit here and there lah... And ta-ta, it becomes blackcurrant tartlets liao... Hehe... Taste good too... TWO BIG THUMBS UP AGAIN!

Haha! In the end, Mom do all the washing while I kip an eye on the oven... Excuse me, while I enjoy our creations... Hehe...

My Mom's Birthday

Today is my Mom's Birthday...

Every year, I would buy the gift 1st and collect payment from my siblings... Things like bags, wallet (or do U called tat purse?), tops, diamond pendant, flowers are some of the gifts that we would buy for her... And of coz, not forgetting a birthday cake...

For this year, initially I tot of buying a gift for her as well... However, juz 2 weeks before her birthday, my mom specifically told me not to buy any thingy for her... She said she had everything and dun need anything... Initially, I tot of buying her a gift secretly... However, on 2nd tots, I tot of saving up the sum of money and bring her overseas on either September or October instead... Hehe... So ended up, I din buy any gift for her... I juz wished her a "Happy Birthday"... Hehe... And I have further decided not to buy any gifts for her on Mother's Day liao... I've decided to save up the sum of money as well... Haha...

Today is oso Mom's off day... Initially her off days are on every Tuesday... But her company juz changed their management... The new management suggested every to off on Sunday with effect from 1st April... So Mom, heng heng, dun nid to work on her birthday lor... Hehe... Anyway, she cooked up an expensive dish today "Buddha Jumps Over The Wall"... And it's such a big pot!!! Think would cost hundreds, nearing to thousands bucks for tat pot! (Paiseh ah... Forget to take picture before tucking in lah... Slurps up till the very last drop liao... ) It's really yummylicious but your mouth will feel kinda dry afterwards... Muz drink lotsa water...

Steamboat

Today is Day 15 of the Lunar New Year. It oso marks the end of the CNY celebration liao... No more CNY liao! Gotta wait till next year liao... Next year will be the 'Rat' Year..

My family are fond of having steamboat during CNY, especially CNY Eve. We had a steamboat-cum-Teppanyaki at home liao. However, my mom recently bought a multi-cooker (Kinda thingy lah), especially for steamboat! (Nearly fainted) Because of this new 'comer', we had a total of 5 rounds of steamboat on this year CNY. (It's from CNY till Day 15 lah... Not everyday 5 rounds lah... Not tat exaggerating lah... Hehe...)

Actually it's not really a bad thingy to have steamboat... In case U dunno, my family members seldom sit around the dining table to have dinner 'together'. Usually, me and my siblings will sit around the living room coffee table to have our dinner... 边吃饭, 边看电视节目 - tat's what we usually do... (Ya ya, not good.. Will get indigestive but we dun really care lah...) So only during steamboat times, we will 乖乖 sit around the dining table to have our dinner...

Frankly speaking, I did enjoy the family times we had together when we gathered around for steamboat... I hope U do enjoy as well... :)

Homemade New Year Goodies

Hey, here are the Chinese New Year goodies tat me and my mom had made... Hehe...

The 1st pic is the 蜜蜂巢 (Think it's called Honeycombs in English)... My mom love this goodies very much... She tuned in to FM 97.2 during working hours... The DJ guided the audience the procedures for whipping up this goodies... Luckily for my mom, this DJ post up the recipe in her blog... So, my mom told me to search for her blog and print out the recipe for her...

And on the very next day after I printed out the recipe, my mom, very excitedly, wanted me to help her with it... It's our 1st attempt... But hey, the taste turns out juz nice... Yummy yummy...


This one is called 肉松卷 (Meat Floss Rolls)... This goodies will show up at my hse every Chinese New Year... My whole family love this goodies alot... Crunchy tasty... Two BIG thumbs up!!!

Hehe... Paiseh lah... These 2 goodies are not for sale lah... Maybe next year lah... Not this year lah coz both mi and my mom are terribly busy lah... Keke...
